Spermine tetrahydrochloride is a polyamine that serves as a nitric oxide donor, modulating platelet activation in a concentration-dependent manner. This endogenous metabolite exhibits a range of biological activities, including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, and demonstrates inhibitory effects on primary human embryo lung fibroblasts in vitro. Additionally, spermine influences immune responses by reversibly inhibiting DNA synthesis and lymphocyte activation in murine spleen cell cultures.
