ATWLPPR peptide is a biologically active heptapeptide and a specific antagonist of VEGFR2 (KDR/Flk-1). It binds to VEGFR2, completely blocking VEGF binding and thereby inhibiting VEGF-induced angiogenesis in vivo. ATWLPPR selectively inhibits human endothelial cell proliferation in vitro and fully suppresses VEGF-mediated angiogenesis in vivo.
