KMG-301AM TFA is an acetoxymethyl ester derivative of KMG-301, designed as a fluorescent probe targeting Mg2+ within mitochondria. Once inside the mitochondria, it is hydrolyzed to KMG-301, which selectively measures Mg2+ concentrations in live cells, as it remains confined within the mitochondria due to the impermeability of the mitochondrial membrane.
