Cystothiazole A is an antifungal agent that exhibits potent inhibitory activity against various fungal pathogens, including Candida albicans, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Aspergillus species, with minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) of 0.4 μg/mL, 0.1 μg/mL, and 1.6 μg/mL, respectively. Additionally, this compound demonstrates cytotoxic effects against human tumor cell lines, such as HPT-116 and K562, with MIC values of 130 ng/mL and 110 ng/mL, respectively. Cystothiazole A does not exhibit antibacterial activity.
