Kp7-6 is a Fas mimetic peptide that acts as a Fas/FasL antagonist. It selectively binds to the Fas receptor and Fas ligand, disrupting receptor complexes and inhibiting downstream apoptotic signaling pathways. This includes the suppression of caspase-8 and caspase-3 activation, thereby preventing β-cell apoptosis and reducing FasL-induced lymphoid cytotoxicity. In preclinical models, Kp7-6 has demonstrated efficacy in reducing tumor volume and enhancing T cell infiltration in pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors, and it has also been shown to protect against concanavalin A-induced liver injury.
