Ipafricept is a recombinant fusion protein that functions as a Wnt inhibitor by binding to Wnt ligands via the extracellular portion of the human Frizzled-8 receptor fused with a human IgG1 Fc fragment. This mechanism effectively blocks Wnt signaling pathways, leading to reduced tumor growth and decreased liver and lung metastases when combined with Gemcitabine in pancreatic cancer mouse models.
