Cenderitide is a potent agonist of particulate guanylyl cyclase receptors (pGC). This natriuretic peptide, composed of C-type natriuretic peptide (CNP) fused to the C-terminus of Dendroaspis natriuretic peptide (DNP), activates pGC-A and pGC-B, leading to increased levels of the second messenger cGMP. Cenderitide effectively suppresses aldosterone production and helps preserve glomerular filtration rate (GFR) without causing a reduction in blood pressure.
