KLYP961 is a selective, orally active dual inhibitor of inducible and neuronal nitric oxide synthase (IC50 = 50-400 nM). This compound effectively reduces endotoxin-induced increases in plasma nitrates and alleviates pain behaviors in a mouse formalin model. KLYP961 is also shown to mitigate carrageenan-induced edema and inflammatory hyperalgesia, as well as the writhing response provoked by phenylbenzoquinone.
