Lipoxin A5 is an endogenous metabolite derived from eicosapentaenoic acid, predominantly found in pig white blood cells. It exhibits contractile activity on guinea pig lung parenchymal strips, demonstrating a force comparable to that of Lipoxin A4 and Lipoxin B4. However, unlike Lipoxin A4 and Lipoxin B4, Lipoxin A5 does not induce vasodilation in aortic smooth muscle.
