YZ-836P is a selective inhibitor of Protein arginine methyltransferase 5 (PRMT5), promoting its ubiquitination and subsequent degradation through a cereblon (CRBN)-dependent mechanism. This reduction in PRMT5 levels results in decreased expression of its downstream target, KLF5, leading to G1 phase cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in triple-negative breast cancer cells.
