1,3-Diphenylguanidine

Accelerator In Rubber Vulcanization

1,3-Diphenylguanidine functions as an accelerator in rubber vulcanization, enhancing the curing process. It increases reactive oxygen species (ROS) activity while decreasing superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) activities. This compound has been shown to impair reproduction and growth in aquatic organisms such as Moina macrocopa, highlighting its potential ecological impact. Its applications extend to studies of vulcanization kinetics and toxicological assessments in environmental research.
