11-trans Leukotriene D4 (11-trans LTD4) is an isomer of leukotriene D4 characterized by a C-11 double bond. This compound retains approximately 10-25% of the biological activity of LTD4, exhibiting an ED50 of 12-60 nM specifically for the contraction of guinea pig trachea. 11-trans LTD4 is particularly useful in studies involving bronchial contractions and inflammatory responses, providing valuable insights into the mechanisms of leukotriene-mediated actions in respiratory tissues.
