2-Aminoquinoline

NO Synthase

2-Aminoquinoline acts as a selective inhibitor of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) and demonstrates potential as an antiviral agent against vaccinia virus. It has been identified in research focused on neurodegenerative diseases, suggesting its utility in the development of antineurodegenerative therapeutics. However, careful consideration of its selectivity and binding profiles is warranted when investigating its effects on human eNOS and other central nervous system targets.
