22-HDHA

Cytochrome P450

22-HDHA (22-Hydroxy Docosahexaenoic Acid) targets cytochrome P450 enzymes, particularly CYP4F3B, and serves as an oxidation product of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). This bioactive compound is generated in vitro from the incubation of rat liver microsomes with DHA and NADPH. Human serum concentrations of 22-HDHA have been shown to increase following dietary supplementation with DHA, highlighting its potential relevance in studies of metabolic pathways and lipid metabolism.
