3-Heptanol

3-Heptanol is a biochemical reagent that serves as a biotransformation product of n-heptane. It acts as a versatile building block in the synthesis of compounds such as 4-(3-adamantan-1-yl-ureido)-butyric acid and derivatives of cyclohexanecarboxylic acid, which are utilized as soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) inhibitors. Additionally, 3-Heptanol can function as a solvent to create microenvironments around single-walled carbon nanotubes and is employed in the preparation of substituted pyrimidine derivatives, which are studied for their binding affinities towards the PKCα isoform.
