3-Indoxyl phosphate sodium

Phosphatase

3-Indoxyl phosphate sodium is a chromogenic substrate specifically designed for alkaline phosphatase. Upon enzymatic action, it releases 3-indoxyl, which is subsequently oxidized to form insoluble indigo, allowing for colorimetric quantification at 660 nm. Additionally, in alkaline conditions, this compound can be reduced to produce water-soluble leucoindigo, measurable by colorimetric detection at 415 nm or voltammetric methods. This reagent is suitable for use in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) and other applications involving alkaline phosphatase activity assessment.
