3-Methylglutaric acid-d4

稳定同位素

3-Methylglutaric acid-d4 is a deuterium-labeled derivative of 3-Methylglutaric acid, functioning as a non-selective inhibitor of mitochondrial activity and Na+, K+-ATPase, exhibiting a 30% inhibition rate in rat cortical synaptosomal preparations. This compound promotes the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), leading to oxidative damage and reduced mitochondrial redox potential, as well as impairing ion pump functionality in cell membranes. 3-Methylglutaric acid-d4 is valuable for investigating the neuropathological mechanisms associated with metabolic disorders and the impact of oxidative stress on neuronal damage in neurodegenerative research.
