3'-O-(2-Nitrobenzyl)-dCTP

Reversible Terminator

3'-O-(2-Nitrobenzyl)-dCTP is a reversible terminator that effectively halts primer extension during DNA synthesis. It is efficiently incorporated by DNA polymerases, which allows temporary interruption of the extension reaction. Following this incorporation, the 3'-O-(2-nitrobenzyl) blocking group can be cleaved using laser irradiation, regenerating a free 3'-OH group for subsequent extension cycles. This reagent is particularly useful for addressing challenges associated with homopolymeric regions in DNA templates.
