3-Oxobetulin acetate

Antancer

3-Oxobetulin acetate, a derivative of betulin, serves as a cholesterol biosynthesis inhibitor. This compound demonstrates notable cytotoxic activity against P388 murine lymphocytic leukemia cells (EC50=0.12 μg/mL) as well as several human cancer cell lines, including MCF-7 breast cancer, SF-268 CNS cancer, H460 lung cancer, and KM20L2 colon cancer, exhibiting GI50 values of 8, 10.6, 5.2, and 12.7 μg/mL, respectively. However, it shows limited efficacy against BxPC-3 pancreatic cancer and DU145 prostate cancer cells (GI50s > 10 μg/mL). Additionally, 3-Oxobetulin acetate effectively inhibits the replication of X4-tropic recombinant HIV in MT-2 lymphoblastoid cells (IC50=13.4 μM) and demonstrates activity against Listeria donovani amastigotes.
