Purine Analog
3MB-PP1 is a bulky purine analog that functions primarily as an inhibitor of Polo-like kinase 1 (Plk1). By specifically targeting Plk1 in cells expressing analog-sensitive Plk1 alleles, 3MB-PP1 effectively disrupts mitotic progression and cell division. Additionally, it inhibits the analog-sensitive Ssn3 (Cdk8) and demonstrates activity against the Leu93 Mutant Zipper-interacting protein kinase (Leu93-ZIPK) with an IC50 of 2 μM. This compound is valuable for investigating hypha formation in Candida albicans as well as cell division processes.
