4-Chlorocinnamic acid

Cinnamic Acid Derivative

4-Chlorocinnamic acid is a derivative of cinnamic acid that acts as an inhibitor of mushroom tyrosinase, demonstrating monophenolase and diphenolase activity inhibition with IC50 values of 0.477 mM and 0.229 mM, respectively. It effectively suppresses the mycelial growth of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, highlighting its potential as a fungicide. Additionally, 4-chlorocinnamic acid exhibits anticonvulsant properties, demonstrating protective effects against seizures induced by pentylenetetrazol, indicating its utility in studying epilepsy and related neurological conditions.
