4-DAMP

M3/M5 Receptor Antagonist

4-DAMP (4-DAMP methiodide) is a selective antagonist of the M3 and M5 muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. This compound demonstrates significant biological activity by enhancing apoptosis and reducing cell viability in gastric cancer cell lines such as MKN45 and BGC823 when used in conjunction with 5-Fluorouracil. Additionally, 4-DAMP exhibits anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and tobacco-induced pulmonary inflammation, while also decreasing mucin 5AC (MUC5AC) secretion. Its applications in cancer research and inflammatory response studies make it a valuable tool for understanding muscarinic receptor signaling pathways.
