4-O-Methyl-ascochlorin

Anticancer Agent

4-O-Methyl-ascochlorin is an anticancer agent that selectively induces apoptosis in K562 leukemia cells. This compound facilitates G1 phase cell cycle arrest and downregulates c-Myc expression, impacting critical pathways in cell proliferation. Additionally, 4-O-Methyl-ascochlorin promotes the phosphorylation of AMPK while inhibiting mTOR activity and its downstream targets including p70S6K and 4E-BP-1. This reagent is valuable for research applications focused on leukemia and related malignancies.
