4-tert-Octylphenol

Estrogenic Drug

4-tert-Octylphenol acts as an estrogenic agent and is recognized as an endocrine-disrupting chemical. This compound induces apoptosis in neuronal progenitor cells in the developing mouse brain, leading to reduced levels of key mitotic markers such as bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU), Ki67, and phospho-histone H3 (p-Histone-H3). Additionally, 4-tert-Octylphenol has been shown to alter brain development and behavior in murine models, making it a relevant tool for research into immune responses, neurodevelopmental disorders, and ethological studies.
