5'-Deoxy-5-fluorocytidine

Metabolite Of Capecitabine

5'-Deoxy-5-fluorocytidine is a cytidine analog and active metabolite of Capecitabine. In the liver, Capecitabine is hydrolyzed to produce 5'-deoxy-5-fluorocytidine, which is subsequently deaminated by cytidine deaminase to yield 5'-deoxy-5-fluorouridine. This compound is further converted to 5-fluorouracil by thymidine phosphorylase in tumor tissues, contributing to its anti-tumor activity. 5'-Deoxy-5-fluorocytidine is primarily utilized in research focused on solid tumors, including colorectal cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, and breast cancer.
