5-Hydroxy Propafenone hydrochloride

Ito Inhibitor

5-Hydroxy Propafenone hydrochloride is a potent inhibitor of the transient outward potassium current (Ito) in cardiac myocytes. As an active metabolite of propafenone, it effectively reduces repolarizing currents, demonstrating an IC50 of 1.5 μM in isolated human arterial myocytes. This reagent is particularly relevant for research applications involving cardiac electrophysiology and the study of arrhythmias in both neonatal rat ventricular myocytes and human tissues.
