5-PT formic

Serotonin Derivative

5-PT formic is an alkyne-functionalized derivative of serotonin (5-HT) that serves as a serotonylation substrate in living cells. This compound facilitates the identification of serotonylated proteins through conjugation with biotin, employing copper-click chemistry and mass spectrometry techniques. Additionally, 5-PT formic is effective in labeling and isolating serotonylated cells, particularly in alveolar epithelial cells, making it a valuable tool for proteomic analysis. Its applications extend to research in bronchopulmonary dysplasia, enhancing the understanding of this condition at the molecular level.
