6,8-Diprenylnaringenin

ABCG2 Inhibitor

6,8-Diprenylnaringenin is a potent inhibitor of the breast cancer resistance protein (BCRP/ABCG2), a key player in drug transport and resistance mechanisms. This hop-derived prenylflavonoid effectively obstructs ABCG2-mediated efflux of various substrates, including Mitoxantrone and 3H-Methotrexate, with an IC50 value of 0.41 μM in HEK293 cells. Additionally, 6,8-Diprenylnaringenin demonstrates limited estrogenic activity, exhibiting less than 1% of the potency of 8-Prenylnaringenin, making it a valuable tool for studying drug resistance and hormone-related research.
