6α-Hydroxy paclitaxel
Paclitaxel Metabolite
6α-Hydroxy paclitaxel, a primary metabolite of Paclitaxel (PTX), is produced by the liver enzyme cytochrome P450 CYP2C8. This compound exhibits bone marrow toxicity but enhances the cytotoxic effects of PTX specifically against leukemia cells while minimizing direct cell toxicity. Its unique properties make 6α-Hydroxy paclitaxel valuable for research in leukemia treatment and related cellular mechanisms.
