8-Mercaptoguanosine

Immunoadjuvant

8-Mercaptoguanosine is an immunoadjuvant that enhances the in vivo antibody response to T-cell-independent antigens, specifically TNP-Ficoll. This compound significantly stimulates the production of IgG1, IgG2, and IgG3 antibodies while having no impact on IgM levels. Additionally, 8-Mercaptoguanosine boosts immune responses to weak antigens, such as pneumococcal polysaccharide, and can restore antibody responses in immunodeficient xid mice lacking reactivity to TNP-Ficoll. Its unique properties make it a valuable tool for research in immunology and vaccine development.
