Anti-tumor Agent

9-cis-UAB30 is a rexinoid agonist that acts as an anti-tumor agent. It significantly inhibits proliferation, viability, and motility in patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) by inducing cell-cycle arrest, characterized by increased G1 phase and reduced S phase cell populations through downregulation of SKP2 and/or 20S proteasome activity. This modulation enhances p27kip1 protein stability while altering the expression of stem cell and differentiation markers, promoting a shift toward differentiation. 9-cis-UAB30 shows a favorable safety profile, having no adverse effects on the central nervous system or cardiovascular system at tested doses, rendering it suitable for research in neuroblastoma, cutaneous T-cell lymphomas, and breast cancer.
