α-Glucosylrutin
Antioxidant Agent
α-Glucosylrutin is a flavonoid that functions as a potent antioxidant by scavenging free radicals. It has been shown to reduce MMP-1 and MMP-2 gene and protein expression, as well as enzyme activity in UVA-irradiated human dermal fibroblasts. Moreover, α-Glucosylrutin mitigates oxidative stress-induced phosphorylation of intracellular tyrosine residues and preserves intracellular thiol levels in human skin cells. This compound is valuable for researching dermatologic conditions related to oxidative stress, including polymorphous light eruption and the effects of UV-induced skin photodamage and photoaging.
