α-Latrotoxin

Neurotoxin

α-Latrotoxin is a potent neurotoxin derived from black widow spider venom, primarily targeting synaptic mechanisms. It induces synaptic vesicle exocytosis from presynaptic nerve terminals, leading to the release of neurotransmitters. This compound is widely utilized in research to study neurotransmitter release, synaptic transmission, and the physiological effects of neurotoxins on the nervous system.
