Acetylstrophanthidin

Cardiac Glycoside

Acetylstrophanthidin is a cardiac glycoside that functions as a positive inotropic agent by enhancing myocardial contractility. This compound has been shown to increase myocardial oxygen consumption in cat papillary muscles, both under constant load and in various contraction conditions, including isotonic and isometric settings. Its ability to modulate cardiac function makes Acetylstrophanthidin valuable for research in cardiovascular physiology and the study of heart failure mechanisms.
