Ceramidase Inhibitor
AD-2646 is a potent ceramidase inhibitor that effectively increases endogenous ceramide levels by disrupting ceramide metabolism. This compound demonstrates cytotoxicity in leukemic T cells, with an EC50 value of 40 μM, by activating multiple caspase pathways, including caspase-8, -9, and -3, along with the cleavage of the caspase substrate PARP. AD-2646 is valuable for research applications in cancer biology, particularly for studying apoptotic mechanisms and therapeutic strategies in leukemia.
