ADD-17014

L-Glu Antagonist

ADD-17014 is an L-glutamate (L-Glu) antagonist that inhibits presynaptic excitatory neurotransmission. As a prodrug, it metabolizes to a β-amino alcohol that acts as an NMDA receptor antagonist by binding to the MK-801 site within the receptor channel. This compound exhibits anticonvulsant and anti-ischemic properties, making it a valuable reagent for research on neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, and stroke.
