Advantame free acid

Sweetener

Advantame free acid is an N-substituted derivative of aspartame that functions as a high-intensity, low-calorie sweetener. It demonstrates significant interactions with plasma proteins and has the potential to induce hypotension and inhibit the hERG K+ channel, leading to cardiotoxicity. Additionally, Advantame binds to the T1R2/T1R3 taste GPCR, engaging in biased heteromer complex formation with NMBR, which activates sialidase activity in vitro. In prenatal developmental toxicity studies in rabbits, Advantame exhibited maternal toxicity characterized by gastrointestinal disturbances.
