AIP-II

QS Signaling Molecule

AIP-II is a macrocyclic peptide that functions as a signaling molecule in quorum sensing, primarily produced by Staphylococcus aureus. It specifically binds to the AgrC-II receptor, modulating the expression of virulence genes in this bacterial pathogen. Additionally, AIP-II serves as an antagonist of the AgrC-I receptor, making it a valuable tool for research on bacterial communication and virulence regulation.
