Amidase

Amidase

Amidase, a member of the nitrilase superfamily, catalyzes the hydrolysis of amides, resulting in the production of carboxylic acids and ammonia. This enzyme features a conserved region of approximately 130 amino acids known as the AS sequence and is involved in critical metabolic pathways. Amidases are valuable tools for biochemistry and molecular biology applications, facilitating studies in metabolism and enzymatic reactions.
