Amotosalen

DNA/RNA-Crosslinking Psoralen Compound

Amotosalen is a light-activated psoralen compound that crosslinks DNA and RNA, serving as an effective agent for pathogen neutralization. Upon exposure to ultraviolet light, Amotosalen binds to nucleic acids, resulting in permanent crosslinking that inhibits replication and halts the proliferation of donor T cells. This compound is particularly valuable in research focused on blood system pathogen reduction technologies and the mechanisms underlying graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).
