Amprolium

Coccidiostat

Amprolium is a coccidiostat that functions as a thiamine analogue, inhibiting the thiamine transporter in Eimeria species. By obstructing thiamine uptake, it effectively disrupts carbohydrate synthesis in these parasites. Amprolium is primarily utilized in poultry to prevent coccidiosis, aiding in the maintenance of health and productivity in avian livestock.
