Amquinate

Coccidiostat

Amquinate is a coccidiostat that functions as an inhibitor of cytochrome b in the electron transport chain. It selectively disrupts mitochondrial respiration in Eimeria tenella by inhibiting succinate- and malate plus pyruvate-supported pathways, while sparing L-ascorbate-supported respiration and chicken liver mitochondrial function. This compound demonstrates targeted anticoccidial activity against wild-type Eimeria tenella, making it valuable for research on coccidiosis and related parasitic infections.
