AMRI-59

Prxi Inhibitor

AMRI-59 is a potent inhibitor of Peroxiredoxin I (PrxI), primarily utilized in the study of parasitic infections and cancer therapeutics. By increasing cellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), AMRI-59 activates mitochondrial signaling pathways and apoptosis signal-regulated kinase 1, which promotes apoptotic processes in A549 human lung adenocarcinoma cells. This compound demonstrates significant antitumor activity while exhibiting minimal acute toxicity, making it a valuable tool for cancer research and therapeutic development.
