Amrinone

Phosphodiesterase III Inhibitor

Amrinone is a selective phosphodiesterase III inhibitor that enhances cardiac contractility and promotes vasodilation by increasing levels of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP). Its primary biological activity makes it a valuable agent in the treatment of heart failure and other cardiovascular disorders. Additionally, Amrinone can be utilized in research applications focused on cardiovascular physiology and pharmacology, given its non-glycosidic and non-catecholamine nature as a cardiotonic agent.
