Amylin (1-13) (human)

Amylin Residues

Amylin (1-13) (human) is a peptide fragment derived from the amyloidogenic human islet amyloid polypeptide (IAPP), specifically targeting amylin residues. This segment is significant in the study of amyloid fibril formation associated with type II diabetes (T2D), where amylin deposits contribute to glucose homeostasis disturbances. While Amylin (1-13) (human) does not promote fibril formation itself, it serves as an important tool for investigating the molecular mechanisms underlying amyloid formation and the pathophysiology of diabetes.
