Amyloid 17-42

Active Compound

Amyloid 17-42 (Aβ(17-42)) is an active compound derived from the cleavage of the amyloid precursor protein (APP) by alpha- and gamma-secretases. This peptide is a significant component of diffuse plaques in Alzheimer's disease and pre-amyloid deposits in Down's syndrome. Amyloid 17-42 is known to induce neuronal apoptosis through activation of the Fas-like/caspase-8 pathway, making it a valuable reagent for research on neurodegenerative diseases and related apoptotic mechanisms.
