Angiotensin II human TFA
Vasoconstrictor
Angiotensin II human TFA is a potent vasoconstrictor and a key bioactive peptide within the renin-angiotensin system, primarily targeting the Angiotensin II type 1 receptor (AT1R) and the Angiotensin II type 2 receptor (AT2R). This peptide plays a crucial role in the regulation of blood pressure through increased sympathetic nervous system activity and enhanced aldosterone production, as well as renal function. In addition to its cardiovascular effects, Angiotensin II human TFA promotes the proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells, stimulates collagen synthesis in fibroblasts, and contributes to vascular wall thickening and myocardial fibrosis. It also induces endothelial capillary formation through a LOX-1 dependent redox-sensitive mechanism and can lead to apoptosis under certain conditions.
