Anthraflavic acid

cytochrome P-448 Inhibitor

Anthraflavic acid is a selective inhibitor of cytochrome P-448, demonstrating no significant impact on phenobarbital-induced cytochrome P-450 or NADPH-dependent cytochrome c reduction. This compound effectively inhibits cytosolic metabolic pathways, obstructs the microsomal and cytosolic activation of IQ, and decreases the metabolic activation of Glu-P-I. Due to its ability to impede the activation of chemical carcinogens, anthraflavic acid is of interest in cancer research applications, particularly in studies focusing on anticancer mechanisms.
