Ap4A

Second Messenger

Ap4A (P1,P4-Di-(adenosine-5')-tetraphosphate) serves as a conserved second messenger involved in various biological processes across a wide range of organisms, from bacteria to humans. This compound binds to histidine triad nucleotide-binding protein 1 (HINT1), leading to the activation of transcription of genes downstream of MITF. Additionally, Ap4A has been shown to induce apoptosis, making it valuable for research applications focused on cell signaling and programmed cell death.
