Arachidic acid

Receptor/Ion Channel Effector

Arachidic acid is a membrane fluidity modulator and receptor/ion channel effector, known for its role in influencing cellular membrane properties. This compound does not activate arachidonic acid-sensitive K+ channels in rat midbrain and hypothalamic neurons, making it a useful tool for studying neuronal signaling pathways. Arachidic acid has been shown to alleviate age-related spatial cognitive impairment, thus supporting research focused on cognitive decline associated with aging.
